100% Organic Slow Release (NPK 8-5-6) over 100-150 days, 900g bag
We have been using this granular fertiliser for our Japanese maples at the nursery for the last few years and are really pleased with how it performs. Growth is balanced and strong without being too forced. It can be applied as a top dressing in early spring or it can be added into the growing medium when repotting – the fine granular formulation making it easy to incorporate.
One application should be plenty to keep your tree happy for the growing season as it slowly releases nutrients and it will take a few weeks to start working. Smells a bit at first but that’s normally a good sign for fertiliser!
Application rate: 1 or 2 25ml (approximately 15g) scoops per 10 litres of growing medium. If in doubt, apply the lesser amount and see how the tree responds – you can always add more! Japanese maples are not hungry trees and never require more than one or two applications during a growing season. Over-enthusiastic feeding will result in masses of growth but this is generally softer and weaker than the tree would produce naturally.
As the saying doesn’t go: ‘little and not very often’. 😉
CAUTION: Store in a cool, dark place out of reach of children and pets. Wear gloves when using.
