We are delighted to offer our first workshop at our nursery in West Sussex, aimed at helping you to improve your repotting skills or gain more confidence to tackle your own trees.

As the climate becomes more challenging, trees in pots have to deal with many more environmental pressures than those planted in the ground. This makes it all the more important to ensure that your container-grown tree is as strong and healthy as it can be.

You’ll learn the following:

  • The importance of choosing the right growing medium
  • Selecting the right container and why we use Air-Pots
  • Root-pruning methods and general re-potting techniques
  • General care of pot-grown trees

In the second half of the session, Miles will demonstrate root-pruning on a container-grown tree and there will be opportunities for questions along the way. If you wish to bring along one of your trees to work on, please let us know in advance.

You’ll need to bring:

Sensible footwear
Warm/waterproof clothing

Please be aware that this is a working nursery, with uneven ground in places. If you would like any further information regarding the accessibility of the site, just let us know.
